On February 25th, The Village Church student ministry sent around 500 students to engage their local community in Old Town Lewisville. They partnered with the City of Lewisville and Keep Lewisville Beautiful in order to find out real tangible needs that could be met. After much persistence and prayer, The Village was able to help fifty plus residents with known needs as well as bring neighboring families together through a free community event, including free food, games, bounce houses, face painting, and a rock climbing wall. This was the beginning of a long lasting relationship we would like to cultivate in Lewisville. This mission was a good catalyst for a macro-level approach. The next approach would be to funnel home groups into the community so that they can continue to love on the families in this neighborhood on a micro-level. Our goal for this mission was to make sure that the Lewisville community could see and hear through our actions the answer to these three questions: "1. Who is Jesus? 2. What has Jesus done? 3. Where can they find out more?"
